thank you....."how to paint like the old masters" by Joseph Sheppard is a decent overview. I don't actually use the methods they teach in there but not too far off. You can google "flemish method" or "flemish technique" for a more detailed explanation of my particular method. My advice would be try different methods until you understand WHY you're doing something...then you can modify or create your own method to best suit your interests....good luck! you can find "gayersgallery" on youtube and I have some videos of my process......I've learned A LOT from watching other artists on youtube
